Alexander JLO’s children lawyers are highly experienced in child residence and child contact orders (custody and access orders).

Child law solicitors london

Alexander JLO’s child law solicitors are trained to recognise the importance of the child in any children’s legal case and the best interests of the child are always of the utmost importance. We are dedicated to resolving children’s issues quickly and with minimum tension, to relieve stress for both the child and parent.

OUR LONDON-BASED CHILD SOLICITORS’ EXPERTISE

Alexander JLO’s child custody and maintenance solicitors, based in London, are highly experienced in child residence and child contact orders, such as custody and access orders. We offer advice and work closely with you to ensure that your child has a stable contact and residence arrangement, which will enable the child to maintain a close and loving relationship with both parents. The law encourages amicable and voluntary children agreements as they tend to be the most successful arrangements for all parties. As such, our sympathetic and understanding team of child law solicitors will help you and your partner to try to reach a voluntary agreement with regards to home visits, supervised contact, visits to the non-resident parent’s home, duration and frequency of overnight stays, holidays etc. If a voluntary agreement cannot be achieved, and if mediation fails or is not possible in the circumstances, Alexander JLO will apply to the court for a residence order or contact order, which outlines who the child will live with, and when the non-residential parent can have contact with the child.

OUR CHILD LAW SERVICES

Alexander JLO’s child law solicitors specialise in the following areas, and offer a wide range of child law services.

  • Residence orders – This order settles which parent the children should live with.
  • Contact orders – This order allows the children to have contact with their non-resident parent, i.e. the parent which they do not reside with.
  • Mediation – If necessary, mediation assistance is provided to help parents reach an agreement with regards to the children. This includes Mediation Information & Assessment Meetings (MIAM).
  • Supervised contact – In instances where supervision is required for contact with the non-resident parent, supervised contact can be arranged.
  • Staying contact – For instances where prolonged contact with the non-resident parent is required, for example, overnight stays or holidays, then staying contact would need to be arranged.
  • Visiting contact – This allows the non-resident parent and/or a non-parent (for example, a grandparent) to visit the children, provided visits are in the children’s best interests.
  • Child abduction, including overseas jurisdictions – Unlike kidnapping, child abduction occurs when one parent takes a child outside of their residing country without the other parent’s agreement thereto. Child abduction is a criminal offence and our child law solicitors can assist with this complex issue.
